Despite its name, the New Zealand rabbit originated in the United States, specifically in California. It is descended from the New Zealand Reds, and developed from crosses of different breeds of rabbits, including Belgian hares and Flemish giants.

Known as butterfly rabbits, English spotted rabbits or English spotted rabbits, the butterfly rabbit is a breed of rabbit that is characterised by its beautiful spotted fur. The special thing about its spots is that they are distributed in a very particular way, giving this rabbit a unique appearance.

In medicine, prolapse (literally from the Latin prolabi: ‘to move out of place’) is the displacement of organs, such as the uterus, so that they descend or move out of their natural location.
