THE GIANT WHITE RABBIT OF BOUSCAT
INTRODUCTION
The Giant White Bouscat rabbit is a little known breed and is considered to be in danger of extinction. Its main function is industrial (meat and fur), but if humans are encouraged to get to know it in depth, they will discover in it a gentle and tender companion.
THE ORIGIN OF THE GIANT WHITE BOUSCAT RABBIT
The Giant White Bouscat breed is a relatively abundant breed in France, introduced in 1910 in Paris and recognised as a breed on 20th June 1924. It was M. Paul Dulon who created the breed in the French region of Bouscat by crossing animals from the Angora breed with the Champagne Silver. The crossbreeding of these breeds gave, according to its creator, ‘a beautiful white rabbit but a little small’. He then proceeded to cross these animals with the grey Flanders Giant, resulting in rabbits of the same colour, which were then selected until the Bouscat White was defined.

THE ROLE OF THE GIANT WHITE BOUSCAT RABBIT
It is an animal of mixed aptitude, meat and fur, with a well developed musculature, particularly on the back of the animal, and a homogeneous skin of great interest.
It is a breed recognised by the British Rabbit Council and the European club, but not by the American Rabbit Breeders Association.
WHAT IS THE BLANC DE BOUSCAT LIKE AS A PET?
The Blanc de Bouscat rabbit has a gentle, docile temperament and a calm, relaxed demeanour, which makes it easy to handle and interact with. They are curious and like to keep busy, so providing mental stimulation through toys, interactive activities and environmental enrichment can help keep them mentally engaged and avoid boredom.
CONCLUSION
Affectionate and sweet, these white rabbits love spending time with their owners and don't mind being petted. They are also an excellent choice for children: as long as your kids know how to interact with rabbits and don't try to hold them in their arms, they will enjoy cuddling with this exceptionally well-mannered bunny.
